AutomaticJobs ("we", "us", or "our") operates the AutomaticJobs mobile application (the "App") and the website automaticjobs.app (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using the App or Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or Site.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name and email address.
LinkedIn session data: To automate job applications, the App uses your LinkedIn session within an in-app browser on your device. Your LinkedIn credentials (username and password) are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. The session cookie that LinkedIn issues after you log in is stored locally on your device only.
Job preferences: Job titles, location preferences, remote/on-site preference, and other search settings you configure in the App.
Application history: Records of jobs the App has applied to on your behalf, including company name, job title, and application date. This data is stored on our servers to populate your history tab.
Payment information: We do not store your card or bank details. Payments are processed by Paystack (Nigerian users) or other payment processors. We only receive a subscription status confirmation from the payment processor.
Device & usage data: Basic device information (OS version, app version) and anonymised crash logs to help us improve the App.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your AutomaticJobs account
- To operate the automated job application feature on your behalf
- To store and display your application history
- To process subscription payments and manage your subscription status
- To send important account and service notifications (not marketing without your consent)
- To improve the App through anonymised analytics and crash reports

4. Third-Party Services
The App interacts with the following third-party services:
- LinkedIn: The App accesses LinkedIn on your behalf to search for jobs and submit Easy Apply applications using your account. Your use of LinkedIn remains subject to LinkedIn's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. AutomaticJobs is not affiliated with LinkedIn.
- Paystack: Used to process subscription payments for Nigerian users. Paystack's Privacy Policy governs how they handle your payment data.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Our backend servers are hosted on AWS in the EU (London) region. Your account data and application history are stored on these servers.
- Expo / EAS: Used to deliver over-the-air app updates. No personal data is shared.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used to deliver push notifications to your device.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your account data and application history are stored on encrypted servers hosted on AWS in the EU (London, eu-west-2) region. We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
Your LinkedIn session data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App will remove this local session data.
While we take reasonable security measures, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong password for your AutomaticJobs account and to keep your device secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Application history records are kept indefinitely so you can reference past applications, but you may request deletion at any time.
If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Data portability - receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
